Seasons

On seasons…I read this today and thought about seasons:

1. love your life for the beauty of every spring
2. love your life for the energy of every summer
3. love your life for the emotions of every fall
4. love your life for the cold beauty of every winter

I miss seasons. Uganda does not have normal seasons like back home…no winter, spring, summer or fall…only rainy and dry seasons. I think there is something sad about that. Maybe it’s my attachment to seasons, but something is missing. My host-brother once made a comment that Uganda didn’t have seasons and it makes it difficult to remember things. Think about it, you can identify memories by the clothes you were wearing (sweater, booty shorts, boots, sandals), where you were standing (snuggled in bed, in the middle of a softball diamond), or the feel of the weather (fresh breezes after a spring-rain, cold, harsh wind during a blizzard, or an unforgiving heat of the summer). Now without those, memories start to bleed together.

Also...without those seasons, it's soo easy to forget big holidays...like THANKSGIVING! Completely slipped my mind!! So have a wonderful THANKSGIVING!!
