Ah TV in Uganda is quite the cultural experience in itself!! The only show that I've really taken a liking to is "Shades of Sin"- a Brazilian soap opera! haha! It's an hour long and they have probably 1 two-minute commercial break- so it's an hour chock-full of goodness!
Here's the synopsis:
Twin brothers are separated in childhood and they grow up without knowing about each other. As adults, they suffer an accident in the same place, at the same time. One disappears in the ocean and the other decides to assume his identity. Years later, as he finds out he has a son and that the woman he loves did not cheat on him, he decides to reclaim his true identity.
AHHH yes...true quality right there!! The kids watch it a lot and call it Paco because the main character's name is Paco. They also kiss me a LOT and I think it's because they watch this soap opera so much and see all the characters kissing! Pretty funny!!!
Anyways...it's become a little bit of an addiction! We eat our meals around it! hehehe!! I'm a bit worried if I'll be able to watch when I get back home! :)

ReplyDeletei love the soap - it shows that sin and wickedness is eventually unearthed and never succeeds - remember how Tony tried to kill khaki, how about how Barbara tried to blackmail preta so that Alfonso fires her, changing blood samples for DNA, i can go on and on but eventually all these plots do not bear lasting fruit.
ReplyDeletei also adore Preta's beauty - I ave never seen a woman with that beauty and good character. Truthful, just and really nice - though it looked like she cheated on Philipe but twas becoz she was confused by the Paco's image back in her life. The fact that she confessed to Philipe hers.
I think Preta means pretty.
Mamushaka..lol..her and Avolado are my favorite in the show.

ReplyDeletei like the soap.i belive paco's wife is preta,cos roy looks like paco and preta,and i belive that Ofonso is a real rich man and othabio babra son looks like a village refuse dump.cos he don't respect any body even ofonso except his wicked mother babra,kaiki is unomal person,cos what babra is doing to paco she can do the same thing to him and he has to quit with babrah.tony has to show the vidoes and picture to ufonso.

ReplyDeletefinally it has ended.this soap was so lovely ireally enjoyed every bit of it frm day 1 its mamusika who inspired me wathch it with his boys if every mother could be like this it would be wonderful. i enjoyed its ending Tina's triplets,apollo coming back,the wedding everything was cute how i wished alfonso had not died this would have been his best moment.
